About WordShine

My name is Richard Treadgold. My wife, Ann, and I work together on Auckland's North Shore, just a short walk from the white sand of Murrays Bay beach. We are both directors of WordShine Ltd: I do the editing and marketing and Ann takes care of finance and administration. I've been writing one thing or another all my life, but actually living from writing since about 1985.

Ann is a good author in her own right, writing children's stories and chronicling family events. I often consult with her on my editing.

WordShine means editing

I like improving the client's writing by correcting spelling, punctuation and grammar. There's a pleasure in fine-tuning the expression — searching for your meaning and then discovering a better way to more exactly or vividly express it.

The name WordShine refers to polished writing — a bit corny, but it's grown on us and it seems to work. The more effort I put into the editing, the more the name WordShine seems to glow.
